The Stockholm subway system, often referred to as the “world’s longest art gallery,” boasts a plethora of art installations across its various stations. The Stadion station, in particular, is renowned for its vibrant rainbow art. Situated on the red line between the Östermalmstorg and Tekniska högskolan stations, Stadion was opened in 1973 and immediately distinguished itself with its striking artwork.
Designed by artists Enno Hallek and Åke Pallarp, the rainbow also beautifully complements the station’s bright blue walls, evoking a sense of being outdoors, under an expansive sky.
